Team Revolution is a group of dedicated cyclists with a passion for staying active and healthy while raising awareness and funds for Humber River Hospital. Since our inception in 2011 we’ve raised over 3 million dollars!
The Evolution of Team Revolution
2011
Team Revolution started with a dream to help revolutionize healthcare in our community by raising funds for the new Humber River Hospital.
In 2011, sixty determined cyclists joined forces with a goal of conquering some of Italy’s most challenging hills all while supporting the vision to create a dramatically different hospital.
2012
In 2012, after months of intense training, the goal of conquering some of Italy’s most challenging hills was realized as Team Revolution participated in a Granfondo in Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region on October 13, 2012 and raised $425,000 to help build North America’s most digital hospital.
2014
One Granfondo wasn’t enough for these cyclists. They recognized the continued need as Humber River Hospital continued to innovate and use technology to reinvent patient care. On September 7, 2014, Team Revolution took to the mountains of Piacenza, Italy to conquer the Granfondo Piacenza Scott, leaving a piece of Canada at the Museo del Ciclismo.
2016
In 2016, with our biggest group to date, Team Revolution took a grueling 132km Granfondo on September 18, 2016 through treacherous weather and bumpy roads in Terracina, Italy.
2018
In 2018 Team Revolution set their sights on north-east Italy and the Verona area where they participated in the Granfondo Peschiera Del Garda on September 23, 2018. This Granfondo was particularly rewarding as it was a true test of strength and determination to complete.
2022
COVID challenged us all and also resulted in our 2020 trip being rescheduled to 2022. After 4 years since participating in a Granfondo in Italy, Team Revolution wanted to make an even bigger impact – we were celebrating our 10th Anniversary and we wanted to make up for the shortfall in fundraising since 2018. The team travelled to Provincia Siena, Tuscany, Italy and participated in the Granfondo del Gallo Nero while raising over $650,000 in 2022 and bringing the fundraising total to date to over $3Mfor healthcare in the GTA.
